Welcome back!

Resuming good sex after pregnancy and birth.

This article is about having good sex after pregnancy and birth.

Of course, you are planning to have sex after pregnancy and birth. Be aware, your body must be prepared for action on the sheets or else it could do severe damage to your body and mind.

Many couples are aware, that not having sex for weeks and more weeks - will drive them crazy. They just simple can wait for childbirth to be over, so that wild sex could be part of the relationship again.

Many young couples have never been educated in postpartum sex. Most couples hardly take any time to relax and enjoy goodies of family life, before starting sexual activities up again. Very often, the man is more eager, than the woman.

Many young couples don’t even consult a gynecologist and take his or her honest opinion before starting sex up again. At least, the woman should have an examination before sexual activities start up again, so that the doctor could say yes or no to start up. This is to protect the woman’s inner parts, in relation to more children.

Unfortunately, very few men think about the woman’s health and mentality, post childbirth, before having sex again. Regardless of the type of child delivery, by c-section or vaginally, there are bound to be wears and tears in the female body and one should provide sufficient time for it to heal before thinking about having sex after pregnancy and birth.

Many couples are forgetting - delivering a baby to the world - is a very hard task for the woman and her body. The body needs to rehabilitate. As a man, you have to understand, that mother’s primary focus should be on her health and also the health of her child. You are not the inner circle anymore. Get used to it.

According to doctors, a time period of 4 to 6 weeks should be allowed to pass before couples engage in lovemaking after pregnancy, when you have a normal given birth. This provides sufficient time for the cervix to close, the wears and tears to heal, and the post delivery bleeding to stop. The decision of going in for postpartum intercourse should be left on the woman. Some women do not feel mentally or physically prepared for having sex after having the baby. Some are ready to undergo post pregnancy sex within a few weeks, other women aren’t.

The woman should be extremely cautious when going in for sex after childbirth. Their vagina might be tender and dry, more so if they are breast feeding the baby. This might cause discomfort during lovemaking and sexual activities. It is best, to start having sex in a slow and easy way. Do not rush it. When couples do take it easy, this helps reduce discomfort and keeps the spirit up for more lovemaking.

Management of infertility focuses on correction of any underlying problem or causative factor that was discovered upon assessment.

The factors that cause infertility in women are analogous to those causing infertility in men: anovulation (faulty or inadequate production of ova or egg), problems of ova transport through the fallopian tubes to the uterus, uterine factors such as tumors or poor endometrial development, and cervical and vaginal factors that immobilize spermatozoa.

In men, these factors include a disturbance in spermatogenesis (production of sperm cells), obstruction in the seminiferous tubules, ducts, or vesicles that prevent movement of spermatozoa, qualitative or quantitative changes in the seminal fluid that prevent sperm motility, development of autoimmunity that immobilizes sperm, and problems in ejaculation or deposition that prevent spermatozoa from being placed close enough to the woman’s cervix to allow ready penetration and fertilization.

Increasing sperm count and motility, reducing the presence of infection, hormone therapy, and surgery are just some of the ways in which these problems may be addressed. But for some couples, even treatment with infertility with procedures may not succeed, and so they need to consider still other options such as alternatives to childbirth including surrogate mothers, adoption, and even child-free living.
